FOR SALE / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk / £3,995 ono / Peterborough
A sleek Honda Prelude Deluxe, father and son owned with 42,171 miles

EQUIPMENT
Retractable halogen headlights, laminated front window, smoked glass sunroof, rear window wiper, remote boot lid and fuel cap opening, felt lined glovebox, coin pocket, instrument rheostat, tachometer, safety indicator panel, digital clock, lights ‘on’ chime, cigarette lighter, folding rear seat back. Dealer fit: Rear spoiler, body stripes, alloy wheels.

EXTERIOR
This elegant sports coupe is finished in Stratos Blue, (Code B30M) and thanks to the electrostatic paint application and garage storage, still looks incredibly sharp today. The polypropylene bumpers, side protection moulding and chrome window inlays are unmarked and the dealer fitted body stripes help accentuate the tapering wedge bonnet and upswept tail. A uniform gloss shine will please show goers and complete originality can be witnessed throughout including the Honda F1 World Championship sticker in the rear screen! One for the Honda connoisseur.

INTERIOR
Luxurious interior appointments and advanced technical specification help explain why this second generation Prelude was at the forefront of design. The firmly contoured rally style seats finished in Blue, (Type C), show virtually no wear with only the drivers bolster corduroy material slightly stretched. Perfection seeking purists will note the factory interior and exterior colour code stickers in the spotless door shuts and tyre inflation sticker to the drivers door bottom. Four genuine Honda logoed rubber floor mats have protected the blue carpeting from new and all controls function with precision including the easy read instruments backlit with a soft orange glow. The supplying dealer tax disc holder is present. Practicality is offered with folding rear seat backs, 2+2 seating with rear seatbelts and a generous boot capacity. Difficult to fault.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1829cc OHC four cylinder power plant has a three valve per cylinder layout and produces 105bhp at 5500rpm. Bonnet up exhibitors will enjoy the cleanliness and originality with all manufacturer markings and stickers intact. The smoothly responsive engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission which offers a swift precise gear change and light action clutch.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original bill of sale reveals the first owner paid £150 for the optional 5J X 16 alloy wheels which are all unmarked and shod in branded 185/70 R13 tyres with ample tread. The spare wheel is still fitted with the factory supplied Michelin XVS item. The four wheel disc braking system, ventilated up front, is servo assisted and diagonally split to ensure safety. A recent overhaul has been performed.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 17th February 1984 by Honda Main Dealers, Sheaf Motors in Sheffield to a Mr A Green. The purchase invoice reveals a total price of £7443.25 was paid which includes a rear spoiler at £35, body strips at £30 and alloy wheels at £150! Returning to the supplying dealer for servicing until 1994 whereupon a relocation to Grantham entrusted a local garage for regular maintenance. The service book has 14 entries backed by physical invoices. Upon the owners retirement the vehicle was inherited by his son, Mr J Green, who used the vehicle sparingly until 2002 when a total of 42,140 miles had been covered. Every MOT and tax disc has been neatly filed until this point when careful storage followed. Mr J Green recently made the difficult decision to part with the car knowing it was his fathers pride and joy but they both wish the vehicle to go to a good home. Every document has been retained, from handbooks to sales brochures when purchased new. The service book still has the Honda Owners Card neatly housed in the pouch to the inside front cover and all keys with dealer key fobs are present. A rare unmolested and fun modern classic.

MOT August 2017, HPI Clear.

Hi Guys

Pleased to become members of this forum, it seems an active community and there are some great cars featured.

We are loving driving our Prelude and have been attending locals shows in it, but it's time to find it a new home!

Best regards

That looks amazing! 8-) Don't think I've seen a 2nd gen this clean.

Yep, that is incredibly clean!
Amazing to see one without any rust on the arches or around the front/rear screens.

Beautiful! I love the dials. As Ratty says, worth every penny. It might take a while, but the right buyer will come along ;)
