ONE OF A KIND CLASSIC HONDA PRELUDE VTEC FOR SALE

Image

After 13yrs of Prelude ownership I have recently purchased an 04 S2000 from a family member,
so this means that reluctantly my pride and joy is now up for sale.

I've been an active member on Honda Revolutions, Evolutions and now LudeGeneration for many years.
I love Honda cars, and my new project will keep me very busy but the Prelude has to find an new loving home.

This car is unique in that it is a JDM chassis but is built to 1995 UK specifications which includes the twin air bags and
the latest model interior. The only JDM parts fitted are the one piece black housing headlights, the LED rear spoiler and the 'Prelude' 3rd Brake light.

It is sold as is, and comes with 10months MOT and 3months road tax. Indicated mileage is 152k but this restored chassis has covered about 110k in total.

Tastefully modified using only the best Honda upgraded parts or quality performance parts:-

Engine:-
Professionally converted (by Performance Autoworks) to run the higher compression H22A7 engine and U2Q7 LSD close ratio gearbox from a 2000 model Honda Accord Type-R (Service history available for this engine)
Prelude original intake manifold, injectors, and OBD1 distributor in use to make the conversion straight forward.
Whilst the engine was being fitted a new Exedy OEM clutch kit was fitted along with a CompetitionClutch lightweight steel flywheel (12lbs version)
The engine benefits from Skunk2 pro-series adjustable cam gears, and a Type-S dynamic chambers induction pipe with a K&N panel filter.
Engine has covered about 110K miles in total and has had no repair work carried out. Honda reliability still in tact.
The U2Q7 LSD gearbox also benefits from having the infamous 5th gear synchro repairs already carried out. (Invoices for parts and work carried out)
Engine ECU is a Neptune RTP board (similar to Hondata S300) in a Honda P72-A01 ecu which can control the IAB's without modification.
Allows you to plug in your laptop to the cars ECU via USB cable (conveniently placed in glovebox) and tune away in realtime with the Neptune RTP software (lifetime software upgrades and support on HRTUNING.com)

Good stuff:
Unique Honda s2k colour on a Prelude. I do not know of another in the country.
Being registered previously on a J plate means it is pre-Aug 1992 which has the added benefit of not
requiring a CAT test come MOT time. So the DECAT can be on for keeps.
I have some spares which I would be willing to include with the sale to help the new owner.(on request)
Engine can be re-mapped at will after fitting any further upgrades. ECU includes Anti-theft, 2-step etc.etc.
More engine power could be released from some further mapping due to recent performance mods.

Bad stuff:
I recently discovered the fuel tank has a leak on the right hand seam. This drips when filled over half full.
Will require a replacement or repaired fuel tank to fix.
4WS (fully working but occasionally trips when starting journey if you reverse first or turn left - fuse reset works everytime)
I have a repaired 4WS ECU which I will include with sale if the new owner wants to swap this over.
The paint job is 3 years old and it has a few stone chips on the bonnet. (It is my daily driver after all)
The recent exhaust modifications has increased the exhaust sound. It does sound awesome but this might be too much for some, so in this case I would recommend fittng a universal sports 200 cell cat and the rear silencer (included) which will help a lot.
There is a split in the drivers seat pad formed from one of the natural leather creases. This will be from swivelling in and out on the seat pad.

Comes with 2 keys and Original 1995 Owners Handbook, comprehensive service history (2 volumes)
Honda Alarm - with 2 working fobs.

Price:
Hard to put a price on a car like this which are becoming very rare these days.
Car is insured on cherished car policy for £2500 but the first £3000 gets it.
10mths MOT and 3mths TAX.

Hope to sell to like minded enthusiast who will continue to cherish it.

PLEASE NOTE:-
Does not include the private H10NDR plate and will be sold with age related re-issued number (J plate) which is in process now. Should be about 2 weeks before the plate is issued and I can then sell. V5C will follow on 4 weeks later.

The car is still insured and garaged at the moment so is ready for inspection and test drive by me with you
(or you with me if you bring proof of fully comp insurance)

I know...
Everyone I know cant believe it!! I'm not sure I can either. Would love to sell it to someone on here though...

Had nothing but praise for it from everyone who's seen it in the flesh. At the recent JDMNORTH meet it drew quite a crowd, but I didn't know I was going to get the S2K then...

The S2K is going to be a money pit. A hard top is a must really and they are thin on the ground. £750+ and not always including the fitting kit....which is 100's more. I need a spare key +programming £100 a spare fob £20 etc etc...

Anyway spread the word...

Wow, phenomenal car. GLWTS. Crazy amount of work, she's a beaut.

Just to note: you mention U2TQ gearbox in your description. Pretty sure this is an error.

A bit leaky TBH, and I think (I hope) its in need of a new clutch MC or slave or both. Its difficult to get in gear sometimes, and even with the clutch pedal fully down selecting 1st can give a tiny drivetrain shunt (like the clutch isn't disengaging properly). Its had a new OEM clutch too...

Its a totally focused drive and performance wise...its quick but only when you ring its neck. Im not used to vtec beginning at 6500...
Early days. Still getting used to it, and dont want any silly mishaps...
