I know, it makes me wonder what else is wrong with it! :( I know about the rad fan and the crack in the rad but there ok for the minute

There taking the sump off and going to an engineering place down the road to see if it can be rethreaded. Tbh I think it can be it didn't look tooo bad. they said they may need to put some liquid metal in to re thread it.
I love the car but I duno if I can keep spending the money like this :( when the sumps off il get them to have a look over the engine see if they can see anything else.

Should be able to get hold of a replacement sump for that engine I'd have thought - it was common to other Honda's of that era? Very likely only from Honda though, unlikely to get a decent one from a scrap yard (rust and if the engine's out of the car it'll have been sat on the sump which will have deformed it).

I'm sure an engineering company will be able to weld/braize a new boss in to the existing one though, that they can tap for a new thread. So long as it isn't excessivly corroded, it should be fine?

It's a nightmare when you buy an old car and keep finding bits wrong with it at first, isn't it. Keep heart though, I'm sure you can get through it and it'll be worth it in the end.

:(

Honda have stopped making them now :( My parents aren't too happy at the minute with the car, I'm trying to convince them its fine after :L

There's no corrosion on mine I could see, I think it was cleaned n painted when it was rebuilt so fingers crossed it will be ok to fix and not too expencive

Im sure hope its ok after and not much else pops up and bits me in the ass! Don't have the funds to keep doing this :( annoying though after what I was told etc when I bought it :(

I think that's what they were going to do actually. With liquid metal or something

Oh what a bummer. Did they do a dead stock search for you as well?

Might be the sort of thing that could be located in America if needs be.

Difficult to tell age from the pic. How hard is the rubber?

Either way, it's definitely drokked though, so at least that's encouraging for sorting the leak when it's replaced though! :D
