Looking again, I think that may be a Jap rear bumper and a retrofitted fog. doesn't explain the boot or front bumper though. TBH, lack of arch rust would actually make me think it's been worked on too!!bb1boy wrote:Yeah UK to JDM makes sense to me, like you say you lose the fog light etc ..but JDM to UK just seems odd.

I asked the seller and he confirmed it is a BB4 (not that there was any doubt) with an M2B4 gearbox.
I'm not sure why it has a ukdm front bumper but the car looks to be in really good condition... I reckon they've taken a body kit off it at some point and had it rust repaired and re-sprayed.
I'm deciding whether or not to buy this or fix up my current lude. A few high-ish insurance quotes and the fact it is post 94 (so no de-cat) is swaying me towards keeping my current one. I do like the look of this though. I guess it all comes down to cost, got a cheeky bid in at the moment so I'll see what happens.

Not sure why everyone jumps on the 'it's been crashed' and 'bootlid and front bumper swapped' bandwagon?
All that has definitely happened is UKDM front and rear plate holders fitted (and pre-facelift nostrils). That's all that's required to swap from JDM plates to UKDM rectangular plates - no bumper or bootlid swap required. And that rear bumper is definitely original non fog with an aftermarket fog fitted (it's the same fog as mine and someone elses on here, so probably the same importer?)
And they could could easily have made those changes because a) someone preferred the UKDM style plates (I do over standard front fitment JDM tbh) b) someone didn't like the look of the legal UK style square plates stuck over the front JDM plate holder/wedged into the rear JDM holder, which blatently look oversized under those circumstances c) they preferred the pre-facelift nostrils (there are people that do)
The car looks great and very straight in the pics, so I sure as hell wouldn't be put off bidding or going to look at it!

I hear what your saying Iain - but i did think you would have to change the bootlid as a uk plate doesnt fit in the jdm recess - thats all that i think thats been changed.
