Not normally a fan of the 350/370z shape, but that looks pretty smart 8)

Oh and that's for making me feel stoopid with all your other posts throughout this thread!

Happy new year. I think those new bumpers suit the car really well. Have always thought the 350z looks a bit 'fat' and boring tbh - those bumpers sharpen it up! 8-)

Whereabouts in manc does the buyer live? Merc might have to keep a look out for your old lude :)

Ahh my missis loves the 370. She wants it in the sparkle yellow and I am to purchase it for her some time in the future. She will not be shown the wonders performed on this one for fear I will have to go back to school to learn the skills to copy them   I cant help thinking that I might just wait around till you finish this one and decide its time for some new project... 'm not too proud to enjoy another mans mods

Now, I have a question I would like to ask. As I have just read through this thread again to remind myself of the crazy antics you have achieved it strikes me you might be able to help with a little LED issue I have. Some things I read on past pages lead me to believe you may be able to help. Or at least point me in the right direction..

I have a camper conversion that runs off 24v. The guy I bought it off changed the lights over to led but mostly put in 2x12v in series rather than 24v systems to begin with.
The issue comes with these two fittings over the kitchen area:

I have 2x 12v ones wired in series

When you turn them on its as if the LEDs dont line up and you get maybe one proper brightness and the rest dim. Or all at half and flickering or some other funked up combination. After maye 3-50 switch cycles it will 'catch' and all LEDs on both banks will illuminate. This is very tiresome and I am just about to rip them out....

I know nothing about electrics or LED function but it feels like they are not lined up for the ignition pulse if that makes sense? Like the two banls are not talking at the same time so dont get the message to all turn on at once.
Something I read in a past page made me think there is a box I can buy that will act as a controller for the both of them so they are pulsed at the same instant...

Am I correct? If so what would one of those look like

I have had a look on ebay and found things that that look like what I mean but I dont know what I am looking for.

Wiring the 2 12v LED banks in series will not work properly.
As a general rule, putting components in series they don't drop the equally (i.e. two components of equal resistance in a 24v circuit does not give 12v each). The first component in the line will drop more than the second componet in the line.
Also LEDs don't actually have any inherrent resistance, so if they're just literally LEDs inside that case (I didn't look at the link to see if there was any technical data tbh, sorry) then that's another reason it won't work.

You'd be better off either buying some 24v LED strips, or a suitably sized resistor to put in series with the existing 12v strips.

Gee-wizz...
Welcome in @rdprelude, your vast knowledge will be greatly appreciated in this forum, and you have certainly got me thinking of some cool little ideas for mine now..

Great work!
P.s you should start a build thread for your 370z in "non-lude profiles" section of the forum ;)

Thanks that is perfect. Just the kind of technical info I need. I struggle with the terms but its defo what I need.

Option 2 sounds more likely as a long term solution but...

I struggle to percieve where this little gizmo fits between the 24v red and black and the 12v lighting input. What do the pins go to? With there being only three what do you plug into what? Is it 24v-N-12v? And would this be ok mounted inside a piece of big cable trunking with a blob of sikaflex? .The trunk is already installed and this would have to live inside. Thats about as far as my electronics goes

Or should I put away the solder and get the right bit of kit fitted... i.e a 24v strip...
