yeah but if someone saved 12kg by removing the impact bar and the inner skin then surely removing the outer skin while keeping the frame will mean you get a substantial weight loss while keeping some strength.
I know fibreglass can be strong but strong means weight i have a carbon bonnet and a fibreglass one the fibreglass one feels heavier that the steel one :lol:

if the door skin is 10% of the entire door weight and by removing the inner skin and crash bar they saved 12kg then you can assume the outer skin weighs more than 1.2kg so a skin weighing around 500g would be a big weight saving

My thinking is you'll still have to replace it with either a fibreglass or carbon fibre skin, but the difference between the original tin skin and either of those other two isn't going to be all that.

if its a skin then it doesnt have to be very heavy at all one sheet of carbon fabric and resin enough to set it will only be about 500g
