No one was happy with the figures. They are not anywhere near comparable to another dyno.W1ggz wrote:Was anyone happy with there figures?
I'll talk about my dyno figures in my thread. Thankfully andyconnolly (S-SPEC) put his car on the dyno as he has the same engine as Macky (Type S). They posted results within a couple of bhp from each other, with both having standard engines and cat-back exhasuts. The only difference was that Macky had a methanol kit running.
If you assume these two would put out around 215 on any other dyno then you can use that as a gauge for interperating the other reults on the Hypertech machine.
We think the dyno is under reading Preludes by around 18-20%. Which would put me, Macky, andyconnolly, and Newkid where we would expect to be on another dyno.
The dyno graphs are a bit strange as well. They dont seem to show the revs that the car was taken to either. Maybe the dyno has its gear ratio set wrong The graphs also dont give an accurate result for torque, or anything for wheel horse power.

genuinely an impressive car though, i went out in one at spa and it had some serious grunt and the stuff he was getting away with was unbelivable in the wet; trail braking, all over the curbs on the brakes, lifting mid corner and the thing just stuck! and it was good in a straight line too!wurlycorner wrote:No offence meant to anyone, but... I was impressed with an astra I drove.
I still wouldn't want to own one though... It just doesn't excite, too sanitised.
EDIT: which is applicable to all modern cars, I mean - that's my point. They're generally more capable, but so much less exciting and interesting. Dull dull dull. And plastic.
