 They are 6 spoke and have polished faces and lips yes, but to me Dom's rims look like modern day replicas, where as these look like old skool classics. I think once she's a bit lower and the bodywork is as shiny as the rims are then they'll look a little bit more suited ;-)

I was liking the mean black steelies against the very dark blue though, so I was toying with the idea of black plasti-dip'ing them as the lacquer is a little twinkley in places, and it'd keep them covered up until I have time to re-lacquer them (plastidip being 100% removable 'n' all), but having looked yesterday on ebay, there was only one black 400ml can available, and with just 4 hours to go it was on £46 with 17 bids!!! :o

No chance!

I've had a set of BC coilovers saved in my ebay watchlist pretty much since the day I got the car, but I need to wait a bit before I can justify those as well ;-) Although the website doesn't actually tell you by how much they can lower by :?

And I've got the JDM Si Civic lip that I bought for the Aerodeck to go on after a bit of modification hopefully. Just all in due time ;-)

Temporary Exhaust

Post by NafemanNathan » Thu Mar 21, 2013 11:38 pm

Nothing's ever easy is it?

Temporary replacement exhaust turned up today. Made me laugh as this was literally how it arrived...

Image

Somewhat of a pee shooter compared to the current one you could say :? ...

Image

But the current one had to go. For one it was just too loud. I literally hadn't taken it over 3.5k because of the noise it makes. But also, I feared it was too close to the bumper and if it did get too hot it would melt the lip...

So anyway, lets remove this badboy! I reattached it a mere 2 weeks ago with brand new stainless steel bolts, so removing it should be a doddle. Oh no, what's that? You'll initially loosen off, but then bind for no good reason and then neither allow me to loosen or even tighten you up again?! WTF?!!! One came undone with reasonable force, and fortunately that was the top, least accessible one, but the other two, I almost shat myself lying down I put so much effort into undoing them! The end result... I sheered them off! ...

Image

drokk! I've not got any spare bolts with me. I raid my Dad's nuts and bolt jars and after 15 minutes of searching (And I'm rushing as I've got to be back home soon as Stace is working tonight) I finally find 3 matching bolts with nuts. They're imperial, but they're the near equivalent to the sheered M8's (or 10's). So I offer up the backbox, but what's this, the flange plate is in the correct orientation, but the drokking PCD is smaller on the new backbox?! :x God damn it! Quick, lets find some more bolts. Fortunately the holes still overlap just enough to get piddley-ass M6's in. They're on the p!ss, they look jobby and it blows ever so slightly, but they hold...

Image

Good job this is just a temporary fix until I can get a proper stainless one made up. Pretty much just agreed the purchase of a particular funky backbox off another member actually.

Either way, this new one is a god send in comparison to that bucket of an exhaust! It's soooo quiet. Kind of too quiet  but still, I can drive it properly now ;-)

Looks weedy as well  ...

lol Nafe, it's a good job you're comfortable with your sexuality, sporting that weener!

Can understand what you meant about the other one though, that must have been LOUD!
