Nothing's ever easy is it?
Temporary replacement exhaust turned up today. Made me laugh as this was literally how it arrived...
Somewhat of a pee shooter compared to the current one you could say

...
But the current one had to go. For one it was just too loud. I literally hadn't taken it over 3.5k because of the noise it makes. But also, I feared it was too close to the bumper and if it did get too hot it would melt the lip...
So anyway, lets remove this badboy! I reattached it a mere 2 weeks ago with brand new stainless steel bolts, so removing it should be a doddle. Oh no, what's that? You'll initially loosen off, but then bind for no good reason and then neither allow me to loosen or even tighten you up again?! WTF?!!! One came undone with reasonable force, and fortunately that was the top, least accessible one, but the other two, I almost shat myself lying down I put so much effort into undoing them! The end result... I sheered them off!

...
drokk! I've not got any spare bolts with me. I raid my Dad's nuts and bolt jars and after 15 minutes of searching (And I'm rushing as I've got to be back home soon as Stace is working tonight) I finally find 3 matching bolts with nuts. They're imperial, but they're the near equivalent to the sheered M8's (or 10's). So I offer up the backbox, but what's this, the flange plate is in the correct orientation, but the drokking PCD is smaller on the new backbox?!

God damn it! Quick, lets find some more bolts. Fortunately the holes still overlap just enough to get piddley-ass M6's in. They're on the p!ss, they look jobby and it blows ever so slightly, but they hold...
Good job this is just a temporary fix until I can get a proper stainless one made up. Pretty much just agreed the purchase of a particular funky backbox off another member actually.
Either way, this new one is a god send in comparison to that bucket of an exhaust! It's soooo quiet. Kind of too quiet

but still, I can drive it properly now
Looks weedy as well
