Symptoms sound exactly the same as when the main relay plays up on 4th gens.
Does the fuel pump (definitely) keep running, or does it cut out?

 Have you changed/uprated the fuel pump, I can't remember?

EDIT: bluejackhustler posted same thing while I was writing that  :10:

Yea third on the main relay. My 4th gen did this to me when i brought it. Just before i was going to take it home, it was running. Went in to get something and came back out. No start. I kept whacking the relay untill it started then vtec'd that dancer home

Yeah I'm not saying it's necessarily the main relay, but just sounds like a problem with fuel pump not running (or not delivering the fuel) for whatever reason that might be.

Yes I have a hrc updated fuel pump. It's loud. As soon as I switch the immobilized and turn the key you hear it primes. But come to think if it sometimes turning the key dies nothing despite the pump priming.

So the consensus is the igwanking switch. I'll post back soon.

Well Mercutio sent me a second hand Ingnition switch.

Took 3 mins to remove and put back in. Mine has been out before because it is missing one ot the 3 screws.

Anyhow.

Key in and car struggeled to start.
Stopped cranking keys out and keys back in again.
And immeadiately started. Started nice and powerfully.
Doesnt die when i tap the throttle.

Let it idle for a while. Smoking like a biatch. Running so rich..

But it seems to start fine 1st time everytime.

Im going to start it a few more times over the next few days and see how it goes.

Got more questions now. Thats for another thread.

I dont think im going to drive the car to get it tunned.
I think ill play it safe and get it transported. The amount i have spent on it i think it deserves it.
