It should be getting two silencers in there as I need it to be under 105db @ 5K rpm. No pics as yet as I am picking the car up on Wednesday morning. From there the car is going for its power to weight testing session. Not ideal as I will be carrying a bit more fuel than I would have liked, but in the end I doubt it will make any differnce to what group I'm in.

The dyno it is going on (the only SLS certificate giving dyno near me) is the same one as I went on before, the one that gave me a dodgy figure. At least I will be able to tell how much difference the new exhasut will have made :D

Oh god, so another pointless bit of paper coming your way then  :(

 Will that work to your advantage though, if it under-reads the vtec again?

I can't wait to hear the new sound buddy. Even the restrictive exhaust sounded great. Have you asked for a specific note for it to play? ;-)
Merlin wrote:Fingers crossed I don't need a retune after it. I am hopeful it wont as I have been running the car with a more restrictive exhaust than what it was originally tuned for but I will get it looked over when on the dyno this week.
Wasn't Marc running a 2.5" with that engine? You'd have thought you would need a retune after if you're going for 3".

I am now fairly sure that the last result was whp and not bhp, despite what the dyno sheet says. It is the only way it makes sense. No so pointless if it shows an increase over the last one.

Yeah I am sure he was. I will deffo need a retune if I want to take full advantage of the 3" system. So long as there is no risk to the engine just now I wont be getting it retuned, A/F ratio will be getting checked on the dyno. Only if the dyno operator says that there is risk to the engine will I spend the time and money to fight to get it retuned before Sunday.

@Dino can you explain what happened when you got the car tuned? From what I remeber you saying and reading you got the car tuned by Rich, made 260 odd, got a different exhaust and then made 270 odd. Can you remember the specifics?

IF my last dyno reading was whp then I got 223whp which is the the 260 bhp region (at a 16% transmission loss), but that was with a restrictive exhaust. If the engine still wants to party with the 3" exhaust then hopefully I will see an increase in power to approximately the level of what Dino was getting.

Edit - Spoke to Rich (Ace Rimmer) and he kindly told me what A/F I should be looking for. So anything out with these values and I need to retune. He did say that there is every possibility it will be fine.

TBH this is a position I did not want to be in, too much uncertainty, too little time. If my old exhaust hadn't of given out I would not be doing this this week.

Hi Al, car was running a Fujitsubo legalis R system, so was a 2.5" system.
Figure on dyno that Rich used gave me 260 ish.
when i identified issues with car originally it was on a different dyno making 210bhp, so went back to that one again after works done that gave me the 270ish reading.
so a 3" zorst should see some nice gains

Where did you get them from? Or can the likes of a tyre outlet get them? Cheers
