Indeed the pics look great! The black and white is defenately worth printing on aluminum or canvas!
Yes it looked like the S2k apr. they are very nice but pricy new.

I knew it was hard to compare as you changed the suspension . Really wonder what my rock hard springs will do.
Keep it up !

What spring rates? Even though I jumped up massively with my spring rates (12 & 16 up from 9 & 6) it isnt over the top as the handling was much better, despite the mental rear springs. I do have 54kg anchored in the boot as ballast and the rear wing to push the rear of the car down. I didn't get much time to play about with the damper settings.

I am going to fix the car tonight but have been thinking about the shaft popping out. It must be the set ring. There is no other explanation. Yes I did hit a few kerbs and the car is much lower than it was before. However if the hub was pulling on the shaft it would pull the spider bearings out out of the cup before it would pull the cup out of the gearbox. When you go to remove a shaft, if you pull it before you pop the set ring all that will happen is you pull the cup boot off and the bearings fall on the floor  I have done that before  Tonight I want to see the smoking gun of a loose set ring.

 what angle do the driveshafts sit at now, with the car that low?

I only noticed it when the car was getting its wheel alignment but I am sure they now point up. I might try and get a pic tonight.

Looks like I'm guna have to make me a splitter before japfest now
I'm just a little scared that if it's just attached to my splitter/bumper it could pull the bumper off at high speed
:?
Probably just me over thinking that one :geek:

Sounds like the set ring, as you say it would just rip the cv boot off if it weren't..

It wont. I removed the studs that hold the bumper on below the head lights and it is still fine.

gb-lude that is stiff. Who recommended those to you?

If you have a splitter as low as you should do, you'll struggle to get into the fields where we park bud ;)

I fixed the drive shaft last night. Some of the reasons it might of popped out are; I might not have properly installed the shaft last time I had it out (ie not cluncked it into position fully), the set ring looked to be a little worn and the inner cv boot looked to be pulling on the shaft a little.

The splines on the end of the shaft looked a little rounded (only the little bit after the groove for the set ring) from being battered by the splines inside of the gearbox. There was a few little bits of metal visible on the end of the shaft. The splines on the inside of the gearbox look fine with no damage at all. I'll put some new gearbox fluid in it tomorrow and take it for a drive.
