Nearly finished preparing the new calipers to put 282's on the car when I found all this surface rust on the inside of the bores. These are turning into a right nightmare, turns out they needed more than just some TLC to get them roadworthy again
Bought some Deox-C and going to bathe them in that for a few hours to try and get the worst off. Then one final sand and clean and onto painting. Still not sure what colour to paint them though! Thinking either gunmetal or red.

The phone rang just as I unlocked the door and came in earlier this evening. An east Asian woman’s voice, possibly Chinese-American?
“Hello. Is that Mr Hans?”
“Who’s calling?”
“This is …” (I wasn’t paying much attention)
“Oh, yes.”
“We just wanted to know if you’ve been receiving any telemarketing calls lately.”
“Well, yours is one, isn’t it?”
“Thank you very much,” she said, and hung up.
