Oh, sorry to hear that.
If you can message details to myself or other mods, we can consider whether to take action.

@andyjess, Tommodon hasn't been on here since 8th May. Slosh2222 has just bumped the thread.

@wurlycorner, there are several guys that this guy owes parts/explainations to.

Pay and collect in person, that's the only way to be sure unfortunately. But even then it could be a wasted journey.

Paypal and paying for goods is the next best way. Don't pay for gifts.

I learnt the hard way recently and ended up £350 out of pocket

We have gone round this before, a few times.

The need to take a pic with username is there to ensure that people do actually have the item instead of taking money for random pictures of stuff found on the internet...
There is a feedback system of sorts (the 'reputation' system, worked by clicking on the green thumbs up and red thumbs down icons above the 'PM' icon).
There was also a dedicated auction site for the forum (like ebay, called 'lude-bay') but people didn't use it.

When there are issues mods can intervene to suspend or ban user accounts or restrict them from parts of the forum - which I have started a mod discussion on in this instance and we'll report back once agreed what action to take.

Beyond that, not a lot that can be done, it comes down to human nature in the end...

I got stung for £30 from this dude. It's not the money I'm massively bothered about it's just that one person can ruin the reputation of a great bunch of people and a top notch forum. The strange thing was some received parts and the guy was even at a show where people have met him in person. It all doesn't add up to me.

If you were 100% a rip-off merchant you wouldn't attend shows and give people your phone number.. Would you? :?

I've emailed him privately, which he originally replied too then I never heard from again.
