BB3 is a 2.0, so I'd also expect that may well be a different FITV? (can see it needing a different amount of air flow than a 2.2?)

Have put my finger over the bottom hole and it doesn't change any thing so think I will Tey and adjust it tomorrow to see if it helps

Normally if it continues to hunt/idle high after putting your finger over the hole it means it's not the FITV at fault, but as you've got one from a 2.0l it could be that the mating faces aren't sealing properly, so spray some carb cleaner around the FITV itself and see if it draws any in/effects the idle. That show whether it's leaking or not.

Also can you get some clear pics of the new FITV fitted from all angles.

Just got my vernier out and have measured both fitv values and the plastic retainer and that are the same size in every way, the only difference is my old one had a dome shape on the top and the new one is a cone. Don't think it would cause it to idle at 1000 rpm cold and 1500rpm when warmed up tho. Any ideas?

Try what I said bud to determine whether it's still the fitv at fault. If it is the fitv and it's still hunting with your finger over the bottom hole, it's either the join to the manifold or the valve needs screwing down/sealing.

I've made progress, I found out that a plug had come off and shes stoped hunting and was ticking over nicely. But now she hunts when she is hot, some times it will stop if I turn the car off and let it cool down for 10 minutes
She will still be on 3 bars of temperature but it will stop hunting.

Any ideas?

That sounds like classic air lock in the coolant. Bleed the cooling system some more :D

Which plug was undone, btw?

You're obviously not doing it right.
