cleaned the inlet mani as pretty much a last resort the other day

cleaned the inside up and bit, including the butterflies

no signs of the gaskets blowing :cry:

so pretty much given up, I know I haven't tried the alternator yet but I feel that's a long shot. may do a compression test on her to see if a cylinder is down, apparently that may cause it. If I get time ill try will's while its off.

I will be SORNing the car today though :|

I can certainly understand your frustration, especially when really all you want to be doing is getting the new lump in there.

Still not sorted that bloody hunting on idle issue I take it :x
You've probably done this but have you tried spraying brake cleaner around the inlet and throttle body to see if it effects the engine? Usually will lift the revs if it's sucking air then you definately know it's an air leak then..

yeh, SORN'd :( its a different hunting issue to when I saw you last lol I havnt tried the brake cleaner around the inlet test but if I get chance I will. yeh we're getting Wills lude sorted with the limited time I have and then mine is getting the engine swap. in one way I cant WAIT to start that!!......but in another way I desperately miss driving my lude big time :cry:

Chrome nostrils were never an option. Just cheap aftermarket tat.

Loving the mobile phone cradle. Reminds me of my dad's vauxhall Cavillier cdx gsi 2.0 16v sri company car days.
