Re: Drax's JUN Prelude: H22 Papa Smurf edition P1 engine rem
cleaned out the CDA filter the other day....
yummy!

installed a Thermatec intake gasket then put on the ATR intake on, properly tightened up

Then decided one eve recently to attempt in fitting the cambelt using the h23 manual tensioner ...by myself
as usually ive found this is a two man job in the past due to being a complete BITCH to fit.
after much predicted swearing and very sore fingers and arms, the usual techniques were going down the pan, and even my mate Thoms way of loosening the cam gears didnt work either.
eventually i found that setting the manual tensioner like so below, and also loosening the belt tensioner pictured to the near point of falling off, will allow enough slack in the belt so that you can twist it upwards by the cam gears allowing you slip it onto the camgear teeth - both making sure all line up absolutely perfectly with the camshaft too at tdc!

and voila! fitted with all teeth lined up perfectly (again, bitch to do)

i then did the valve clearances and put the old engines rocker cover on as it will be used for the tuning stage as its had the end cut off to allow any required adjustment of the camgears.
next stage is to torque up the bolts around the cambelt side of the engine, put the plastic covers on and then get started on removing the guff not required for the new build currently in the engine bay.
