Newbie Skid23 - Prelude 3rd gen BA4

Post by skid23 » Wed Mar 04, 2015 9:52 am

Hi all!

First of all :
I'm Joren, From belgium, living the honda lifestyle for a few years now. I have a daily civic EJ9, along with some mods etc. And recently I bought a prelude 3rd gen. I fell in love with the body style the first time I saw it.
Altough I very much like the car, the one I bought was in a "not so good" condition.

In our country it's difficult to find one with the injection engines and not the carbs, so I just went over to this car and bought it no matter what. It was cheap.
Here are some pictures of the car :

It was very dirty and there were parts missing. The exhaust system was not incl; and the alternator & battery were also missing. Some scratches etc, but thats not that bad. It's the engine that makes me a little insecure.. Because of the exhaust system missing, I wasn't able to hear the engine (at least not quiet? the engine did go, but very loud offc.) , therfor it's highly possible that the engine is in bad condition, because I've heard this guy were I bought it was a scam.

In our country there are not a lot of parts for this model, or at least the honda webshops don't have A THING for this car. If some af you know shops where I can find an axhaust system or catback system I would appriciate it.

Anyway, long story short, the car is in bad shape, BUT! I'm not willing to let the lude go just yet, i's like it to have a new life.
I'm going to inspect everything; hoping U guys would help me.

Welocme to the club Joren.

There are a few 3rd gen breakers and owners on here, so hopefully we can help you find everything you need :)

Is she black by the way? I do love the darker coloured 3rd gens 8)

Welcome, car looks good.

Parts for 3g's aren't that easy to come by over here either, but they can be found.

Does yours still have the manifold and downpipe? If it has those, then you could just get a custom after market exhaust made for the car. The manifold and downpipe are the hardest to manufacture but the rest is straight forward for a custom exhaust place.

Hopefully you'll be ok with the engine - they're pretty solid old things.

The manifold is on the engine, but it's only the 4 runner going to 2, the downpipe starting there is also missing.
I Think i'm going to fit my oem EJ9 exhaust on it for now, so I can just hear the engine run or hear that there are problems with it.
