 The Rota hate, a concept peddled by American kids who would rather go :ignore: and listen to the jobby on the net, rather than fact.

sorry in advance but i have to have a RANT  ( this is not personal at Newkid ;) )

"just in banter" does not cut it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some newbie who is saving like hell for the best they can get, and Rota's are not cheap rims, and they see this and are put off  some will never have or warrant spending £1500 or more for wheels, and even £600 to £800 is OTT!

showing pics of broken wheels can be done on every rim in the world from every make known to man! when you mod the suspension you change the stress factor, when you polybush the stess goes up tenfold, when you run smaller profile tyres  all this and a ton of metal hitting those shitty potholes england calls roads ;)

there is a reason why new cars come with jobby alloys and 55+ profile tyres it is a cover thier own ass safty factor and you remove this at your own consent and when you do :!: that is when things like this can happen, but still quite rare :D

sorry again but rant over :P

This thread was about dream wheels. that you didnt't have to pay for. and people still put Rotas? surely you would want the real deal if they were free? The whole point of rotas is that they are copies of original designs at a more affordable price. Anyway back on topic.

from what i have read on other forums, rota powder coat their wheels, which in turn, slightly weakens the wheel when its baked.

so when ppl buy a second hand set and get them powder coated in another colour they get very weak and then under all the stress they break :/

it does put you off buyin rotas but, im not going to be runing MEGA power and im not going to be drifting about putting my wheeels under loads of stress so why worry ?

i LOVE the look of rota GTR's and i id love a set one day regardless what ppl say about rota ;)
ive also just bought a set of alecias for the wifes birthday ;)
