So THAT's what was knocking from the rear!

Post by judderod » Mon Apr 08, 2013 11:03 am

I thought my exhaust was knocking...

Oops

No wonder the handling hasn't felt right for a while. The rear anti roll bar has completely sheared in half!

So I might as well stick a performance one in there. I'm looking at one from whiteline or ultra racing. They're both solid unlike the OEM bar, but the ultra racing is 1mm thicker so perhaps a bit stiffer. Does anyone have any recommendations or any other suggestions?

I have the front and rear Whitelines and they are awesome, many times heavier than OEM. I like the look of the Ultra Racing ones, but I have been eyeing up their fender braces.

Whoah!

To add to Vanzeps thoughts, plenty of tread left on that tyre and no holes in the exhaust. Every cloud and all that! :?

Good luck with your choice, both great products, but if one is thicker I'd have that personally.

Another reason to go with Ultra Racing is that they will no doubt be easier to get hold of ;)

Yeah I'm liking the idea of the thicker ultra racing one. I've read that a stiffer ARB on the rear makes the most difference on a FWD car, and since the suspension is pretty stiff anyway, the bar would need to be pretty damn strong to make much of a difference IMHO.

I never heard it but the mrs drives the prelude every day so it probably went when she was driving. Looking at it I think it just rusted and slowly tore apart so it probably didn't make any noise until a little clunk when it fell out and onto the rear steering arm. Come to think of it the ARB has probably been doing almost nothing to help with handling for a very long time - it was just bending and flexing until it finally snapped!

One thing that's putting me off ultra racing is there's a big banner about fakes on their website.
