Pretty rapid!

I had a friend I used to work with in my mountain biking years, before I discovered cars, who used to have a Mk1 Golf that he'd done a 2.0l conversion to. I have no idea what engine was in it, but that too was built for the track and would out excelerate anything it seemed and throw you right back in the seat and stop on a stamp!

Is it me or on that straight does he run out of gear/whatever and just coasts the last bit?

Yeah it sure is fast. A stock R35 GTR will lap that track in 57s, it bet this is faster.

Looks very quick, but is it just me or does it look like it struggles to put that power down and is a bit twitchy under braking?

Yeah it is hard to hear what is happening, it think it has very short ratio's. But I woulnt be suprised if it struggles to get the power down and has a twitch under braking. What do stock MK1 Golfs weigh? 800kg or something?
