Most people don't!

They have various registered names for different branches of work and locations. Not sure if M-TEC is still in use in Japan now??? :?

ONYKO supposedly has another Mugen manifold with the same Jasma number as the one I had...

Perhaps it's a case of Mugen having a JASMA code as a company, but each subsequent exhaust/whatever has it's own certification ID independent of the manufacturer? Presumably every design has to be JASMA approved, otherwise any company could just make one header that meets the JASMA spec and then churn out whatever they want. Perhaps somewhere along the road the numbering format of the stamp changed to reflect solely each product as an individual rather than several different ones under one company?

There's some stuff here about why it all matters apparently

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... XvYGB7kunA

Then there are more pages about how to measure how loud it is, how to measure the ground clearance etc. etc.
