The sump can't be repaired so I've had to buy the 2nd hand one from Birmingham so won't have the car back till Friday -.- I'm gana ask for the old one back anyway so I can see if somewhere else if can be sorted

Luckily Honda don't mind keeping the car there on the ramp till then and they said they'll look over the rest for me to see if theres anything else. I know its a bit more expencive taking it to dealer but theyve been really helpful

At least it's gana be done I suppose lol

That's either not a new gasket, or one that was pretty butchered by whoever took it off, I've seen 30 year old gaskets come off in better nick than that. Good luck, tho' rob, hope things start to settle down a bit for you.

It was exactly £25, the first time i tryed paying by card it was denied then did it the 2nd time and it went through fine, had a look at my bank account a bit later on and i was £50 short! :S still hasn't come back in so it may be a call to HSBC to get them to sort it out

I had a little touch and it feels pretty much the same as the new one :S i asked the guy was it like that when he took it off and he said yeah, i forgot to take a pic but there's loads of sealant on the engine where the gasket would be :/

Did they give you a copy of the declined reciept? That should make it nice and simple to sort.

So it might have been a new gasket then, but looks like the fitting was a bodge, probably not lined up correctly (resulting in it splitting, bolts being forced through the gasket instead of hte pre-moulded holes and sealant being used where it shouldn't be necessary).

Anyway, hope it's all sorted for you soon - jobby run of bad luck by all accounts!

If you haven't spoke to anyone about it you probably should ;)

Don't bother with the petrol station, just call your bank. If you've been charged the same amount twice within a matter of seconds they should be able to figure it out.
