For sale is my mum's 1994 Prelude Si DOHC, cue the blurb.
Up for sale is my mothers Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC Si Japanese Import. I brought this car into the UK in early 2005 with approximately 36,000 miles on the clock having been a one owner non-smoker car. The car has now covered approximately 106,000 miles.

I looked for an example as clean as this one for a while it was a grade 4 car. The BB4 chassis Si is the simpler model compared to the BB1 which was similar to the UK spec cars. They both came with 4 wheel steer, ABS and twin air bags whereas the BB1 did not.

I specifically wanted this model as there was less to go wrong and in the 9 years it has never let her down.

This model is still well specified with electric windows, central locking, electric sunroof (optional), electric fold in mirrors, speed sensitive power steering, air con climate control (fully working)

Being the facelift model it also has the full electro-luminescent dash and clear front indicators as well as the later style fan blade alloys.

The car is completely standard and has always been fully maintained receiving a full service using Honda filters and fully synthetic oil once a year. There are a large number of receipts to back this up. There are also the Japanese manual and service books plus two original keys. The only parts it has required over the years are a replacement Honda exhaust system, both rear wheel bearings and both front callipers.

Overall the car is still in very good condition, the interior is immaculate with only some slight wear to the hand brake release button although I have a good replacement to go with the car, It has been waxed underneath several times and is in very good condition, the brakes have been stripped and serviced once a year and do not suffer from the usual Honda brake issues.

There are the usual small rust areas on the rear arches but these are cosmetic, there are a few small minor car park marks from other careless drivers plus some stone chips to the front bumper but overall the car is very presentable and still gets admiring comments. The exhaust system is now showing signs of corrosion and will require a new centre section at some point although it passed the MOT last year ok.

It has a TOAD cat 1 alarm with certificate and two fobs. The alloys were refurbished a couple of years back and the tyres are all in good condition. There are also a matching set with Toyo SnowProx winter tyres available by separate negotiation, these have also been refurbished.

The car is still excellent to drive and feels very tight, with 200HP its no slouch and a pleasure to drive normally or quickly. She will be very sorry to see it go and it has only just been replaced with a later Generation 5 2.2 Type S as there really was nothing else that could replace it.

These cars are rapidly disappearing and are a future classic for sure, Honda really don't make cars of this quality now, the 90's was their golden era. I also have a CRX and Legend of similar vintage so speak from experience.

I have priced it keenly taking into account the exhaust and small amount of paint work required to make this mint, there is tax left until the end of the month then it will be SORN'd but I can re-tax at the buyer expense. There is MOT until the end of April but it will have no issue passing another. I will not entertain silly offers but am open to sensible one. I really would like this to go to a Honda enthusiast who will look after it and not turn it into a track car etc. If it does not sell I plan to store it as its value will only increase in later years.

Please contact me if you require more information, pictures etc.

Looks like a fine example and well worth sorting the rust out :)

Good luck with the sale
