I know *strictly* it isn't legal as imports should read

G17
YNO

but again being an import will they accept it as is?

I did have some fully legal plates, but can't find them before the MOT this weekend.

True, I think the main bone of contention with mine is there is no space between the 7 and the Y. If there was a space I would expect they would probably ignore it.

I have not heard that before about import plates. As long as its the correct font, size and spacing it can be writted how you like.

Correct, but if the letters are as you state, they won't fit within the 13 inches of the plate!

Don't know, but that's a cunning way of slipping pics of your new tail lights into the forum to see if anyone noticed!

As said it's all dependant on the MOTer. If you have a quiet word with a nice MOTer about it before hand he might let you off... Although he might think you're trying to take him for a fool if you tell him you can't find your legal ones

 that'll be why I thought they were new then - first time I saw your car with lights working was 2 years ago
Why did you take them off/what happened to them?

Couple of the LEDs failed, and one of the rings fell out of position (only held in place with hot glue) so put the OEMs back on. I had plans to redesign the LED lights but never got around to it, however they are now back on the cards ;)
