Don't let him know that you're coming, otherwise no doubt he'll be at the hospital

You going to wear a wire as well? ;-)

Most mobile phones have a voice recorder on them (or I dare say there will be a cheap/free application for it), wouldn't hurt to turn it on just before knocking on his door.

Also, I'm pretty sure most hospitals don't mind you having your phone turned on anymore.

Hmm, hope you manage to get it worked out and actually get the car but I would have raised a case on eBay for a refund already. The fact they communicated at first then made no effort as soon as they got the money would really anger me, regardless of any stories they may try to sell you. If their circumstances change then they should actively make you aware of it as they have already taken money and entered into the transaction. That is a basic responsibility as a seller.

Just make sure you have any disputes sorted within the 30-day timelines that eBay and PayPal subscribe to, as I got screwed recently by somebody who sold me some faulty parts, not being aware they had a serious fault until I tried to fit them about 2 months later. :x

Doesn't sound like it was purchased through ebay though...

Oh yeah, it was a bank transfer. I believe eBay provide no cover for external payments, so he may have already lost the money if they are not genuine, although you would still have a case if they were deemed to be using the eBay service to facilitate fraud.

Does just sound like they are pre-occupied/extremely disorganised so I'm sure it will go through, eventually!

I got it on Friday, but it was very hard work. He had not sent off his v5 from the original purchase and it had no tax. So I spent 30 minutes in the post office, also they were not in when I got there so I called to find they were half an hour away and had a flat tyre and no spare so I had to go collect them. All in all long winded and really frustrating but I've got it for 400 quid

Bloody hell, sounds like something straight out of a SitCom! Glad to know you got it in the end, hopefully it turns out to be a good buy.
