That's one thing I'm OCD about. I always have to check it's not in gear before starting her up, even though I never leave it in gear and even if I've checked just a minute before

Yeah, me too normally mate. It's just I was reaching through the window to start the car, & never usually leave it in gear!

Wheels are not to my taste much, and I'd say loose the rear lights too.

Yep, I agree with that. Lights will be changed for OEM this afternoon, and black wheels will follow in several months.

really you started it up in gear from outside the car and it ran away from you?

Priceless...

So if the handbrake is crap, it means the rear caliper sliders/pads are seized up and that's another reason why it shouldn't have 11 months MOT on it...

Again, can all be sorted easily enough but doesn't say much for the place that did the last MOT...
