Welcome along, glad you're taken with the car, 3rd gens are definitely 8-)

I've not been keeping up with reading posts on the forum last couple of days, busy with work/trying to find jobby for another car  but anyway, I saw this thread and thought  4 pages of posts on a Newbie thread, in just one day? WTF? Then I clicked on the thread and realised

Hope the MOT went ok.

Sorry for lack of reply guys.
So as expected he did not pass his MOT. Failures include:

Near side front seat belt doesn't work. Wiper does not clear windscreen properly. Near side rear (sill and arch) body or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting it's strength within 30cm of the body mounting. Offside read (sill and arch) body or chassis has excessive corrosion blah blah blah. Offside front (inner arch) body or chassis has excessive corrosion blah blah blah Bear side front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt.

This properly suuuucks, so he's currently in the garage. I've unfortunately had to buy a 306 which I got for 150, from my mechanic, just as a daily so I can get to work and what not. Getting the lude back on the road will be a long process, as I want to be there while the welding is going down and try and get a good practise at it .

Shame about the rust, but fair play to you to want to get involved 8)

... And £150 for a run about isn't bad at all ;-)

Gutted it didn't pass. Fingers crossed you get it back on the road and yourself out of the 306, ASAP!

Zimi. Sorry that it failed :( it's always a blow when your car fails. But it's great that your keeping him and will be getting stuck in 8-)
