Wouldn't get much for it though got that dent over the rear arch from the lorry incident front splitters damagedwurlycorner wrote:Sell your lude and buy another that isn't an S spec?
It's your car man so do what you want with it of course, but I'm with Donald it seems a shame to strip out an S-spec for the track?
It's already been tracked before and is almost ready for it struts all round and lowered all I would need to sort is the engine which I can do in work saving me a fortune and it's ready . I like the car too much to get rid of it wouldn't be a complete strip out so everything could be put back in

And so it begins

Started the strip out last night
I found a decent amount of water in the boot at any low points, any ideas where this could be coming from ?

Yea it has a sunroof, need to try find the pipes see where they go towurlycorner wrote:Sunroof drains would be the first suspect (if your car has a sunroof?) Check the bladders at the bottom of the pipes are clear (the black rubber bits where they exit through the bodywork)
There was water sitting on the wee flats behind the lights and some in the bottom of the tyre well, I would assume the stuff in the tyre well will be run off from somewhere else.
The H badge is off the rear until I get it painted so there are two wee holes but don't think that would contribute to this that much

Cheers budwurlycorner wrote:The sunroof drains are inside the rear arches, just a bit out of sight.
Stick your head inside from the boot and inside the arch look towards the front of the car and you'll see them.

Re: andyconnollys '98 S-Spec
the sunroof drains were dry and clear
sealed round some seems and the rear lights with some gasket maker and it seems to have solved the problem
But the lude now sits lifeless as the radiator went bang
hopefully get another within the week.

Re: andyconnollys '98 S-Spec
Yeah my boot water was from the rear light gaskets too. Just flipping the gaskets over to get a better seal seemed to fix it (for now at least). That was a pretty obvious diagnosis though because I had an inch of water inside each light whenever it rained :p
