what's this 3 phase plug?

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

what's this 3 phase plug?

Post by wurlycorner » Wed Nov 26, 2014 10:35 am

There's a spare switched 3 Phase socket in the barn that I can use for the ramp (saves any drokking about with the existing electrics, i.e. me spending cash I don't have/need to!) but it's not an IEC 3 phase connector, it's much older and I don't recognise it.

Anyone know what it's called/where to get one?
It's a proper industrial fitting (metal case, screw on outer sleeve etc.) 15 amp rated.

And an existing/corresponding plug, for comparison;

Seems to have a makers mark of "LD" inside a diamond.

Yeah, it pre-dates the IEC connectors.

:think: Have they by any chance got the plug that goes into it, going spare? 4 pin 15 amp??? ;)

Mate that is old, we had some fitted to our old single stroke presses at work dating from the late 60's. Unfortunately I don't know what they're called but I'd be surprised if you can find one.

Even if this thread clearly states that you've "found" one :facepalm:

Yeah I've seen.
You can also still buy them new (both a new range that is similar but not compatible and the same old range).
If its possible to pick up a redundant/surplus one from somewhere for free instead though, I'm not averse to the idea! :lol:
