According to the council, it appeared overnight

Seriously though, once it started, this wouldn't have been hard to stop and catch the culprits in the act... :|

Combined apathy by the local residents, council and police at its very best :tosser:

That's disgusting! And how stupid are the council?

And it sounds like a lot of people are going to be spending 12 months in prison soon. I imagine there's a lot of evidence there to suggest who dumped what.

Our local council is considering charging to take stuff to the municipal tip. They say they don't expect to see an increase in fly-tipping as result.

Pshaw!

Pleasant site isn't it? Please remember if you need rubbish removed only use licensed waste carriers. If not and the articles can be identified as yours you get the fine. I use South Gloucestershire Council. An open trannie with caged side 2 trips one a quarter full though cost me £58 two years ago. What a bargain, even if it has doubled I would use them again.

Young lovers in a car park. A nearly empty MacD carton flies out of the car and onto the ground.
They're less than happy when I post it back through the open window.
Shouting ensues, but the garbage stays in the car - at least until after they drive away and remain in sight.

Pisses me off that people like that are so drokking lazy they can't get out the car and walk to a bin. It gives me problems when walking my dogs, they could do themselves some harm on some of the jobby people just chuck out. There's rubbish everywhere locally it's horrible and it's so drokking inconsiderate of people.

As for the fly tipping, sounds like it's mainly commercial waste. Probably people who would rather endanger the public rather than pay to safely dispose of their waste. Arseholes!

12 months in prison that's too easy. Make them clear it all up!

They still do that in Singapore Paul. Get caught dropping a fag end or a wrapper you're summonsed, charged (no appeals nonsense) and on Saturdays, the offenders, wearing orange boiler suits, spend a day clearing leaves, litter and other detritus from the roads, public housing estates and motorways.
Oh and for good measure, in Friday's paper, the offenders are named. 8-)
Strikes me as a pretty good of idea going about making sure they won't litter again.

Nice Idea. Probably can't do it here though. Elf and Insanity rules. The poor dears might injure themselves with their litter pickers or get their heads stuck in their plastic bin bags while sniffing glue!
