Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude - SLS Prelude Power!!!
Many thanks dude. Yeah the car has come a long way in the last 5 years. It do put up a fair bit but I like reading back and seeing how the car once was.

Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude - SLS Prelude Power!!!
That guy is in the Honda Prelude Racing Group I am in
No I cannot do that. I don't think I need to either. To my knowledge my splitter does not flex under load. There isn't enough flex in it to be able to
.
All I want my splitter to do is to reduce the amount of air going underneath my car.

New clutch
On Saturday I changed over my clutch, it was a mixed bag of success and potential failure

Last time I was in my gearbox I had to change the flywheel, I had ordered a new clutch for that but it did not turn up in time
It did look worn and the pressure plate looked to have taken a beating so I thought it would be best to change the clutch before it gave out on me.
First up draining the gearbox oil showed this:

Some "chunky" bits of metal
Its funny what you ignore/forget in the heat of things. I now remember getting a bit of 5th gear grind on the last round of SLS. Thinking that it is the 5th gear and that it wasn't too much of a problem at the time I chose to carry on, I don't have the time or cash to refurbish or upgrade the box at the moment. Fingers crossed it will last until the end of the season. I felt nothing else wrong with the box last time. But, I will not know properly until I take it out for a drive.

New Exedy stage 2 clutch VS old Competition Clutch stage 5

You can see the huge trench in the pressure plate the old CC clutch plate has carved

All went back together fine but I think I have a small hydraulic problem once again. We experienced this a few months back. With the engine on it sometimes does not want to go in gear. Bleeding it seemed to help, plus driving it a little. I think it is a problem with the banjo bolt on the MC. Years ago I overtightened this bolt, probably damaging it a little, so it only wants to be tight in on e particular position. If it is not in this position it is slack and most likely sucking in air. I need a new bolt.
So a few niggles to iron out. I should have it sorted this week along with a new OEM rocker cover gasket, spark plug seals and rocker cover washer things.
