Arches
Right so mechanically car running sound now.
Already spent nearly 1500 on it to make it run right and few unexpected issues.
So things sorted so far;
. Drive shafts (off atr)
. Rocker cover gaskets and other gaskets.
. Atr manifold and down pipe
. Custom decat and custom 4 inch jap style back box by long life
.windscreen getting sorted soon.
But now going to move onto body work in the next month or so. Need to get the arches done. Anyone on here a bodywork specialist or does body work. Been quoted 800 put new arches in. Anyone do it cheaper?
Let me know.
Thanks

What are they doing for £800. Actual new arches or just glassed over? Price inc vat? Any guarantees?
£800 is cheap especially for a silver car. If it was me id want the colour blending across the front doors and front wing on both sides of the car being silver and I'd want around £1200-1500 inc vat.

Whatever the price, see if you can track down some previous customers of theirs who have had similar work done (ideally on a Honda of the same era) to inspect their work. Ask them for contacts. If they're worthy they'll have nothing to hide and appreciate why you're asking.
We've seen so many arch repairs gone wrong on here, whether it's just a crude job or simply the rust has re-appeared just 6 months to 2 years later.

vtec direct do bodyworkTeddy92110 wrote:Well 1100 from someone near mine including my body kit fitted and sprayed and 800 from vtec direct. They apparently did a Job on one of there customers cars.

I used to have an ATR, never known them to ever do bodywork, well I saw them with a rattle can patching things up, but they are not a proper bodyshop as far as I know.

I wouldn't let them touch mine but it's up to you mate. I don't know where you are based but when I come to get mine done I think I will go to TGM in Fleet as they do loads of this sort of work on DC2's, they suffer from the same rear arch rust as the preludes and they did my brothers dc2 a few years ago and I couldn't tell it had been done, was an excellent job.Teddy92110 wrote:No they aren't. But when I took the car down first time they said they can do it?
