Anyone used Quiksteel?

I want to plug the silencer holes on my supercharger and its tricky to weld near the rotors with tight tolerances and warping.

Some people use Quiksteel to cover them. There are people saying do it and people saying dont as it could fall off and into the engine.

Has anyone had experience with Quiksteel in certain uses and rate it?

I used it to fix a hole in a petrol tank after the supposed proper tank sealing stuff turned out to be jobby.
It worked a treat

slightly different scenario though...

Can you not tap the holes and fit a bolt with a rubber seal (or liquid gasket)?

No..impossible as it will interfere with the rotors inside. I cannot take the charger apart with out a hydraulic press and its already been rebuilt.
Those holes in question are the 2 ports next to the exit triangle.

Going to see if I can get 2 small plates tack welded inplace.

Ah, I see now. Yep, not gonna be able to drill, tap and plug them very easily...
They are pretty sizeable hopes to try and bridge with quicksteel tbh - I probably wouldn't fancy the chances of it lasting.
As that is cast aluminium, you will struggle to get a good weld on it that wil a) hold, b) seal fully.

What sits in the big square recess (i.e. this side of the holes? ) I'm thinking fab up a blanking plate the size of the recess that will sit over them? It could be resin bonded in place then, with no chance of it dislodging.

I used it to fix a hole in a Celica sump. Tractor drive too close to the hedge and pulled a rock out which I subsequently hit. It punched a 2p size hole in the front of the sump. Quiksteel worked a treat. I drove it for months without any issue.

I was going to suggest something similar once I saw that pic.

I'm confused to what you mean by square recesses.

If you mean the square blocks at the base of the triangle then they are bolt holes for the nose of the charger.

You have the main square profile, that has one hole in each corner, then you have the rectangular recess which contains all the other details. That rectangular recess.
