Ah right get you now  wheels pretty solid just not the best comfort wise for driving, hopefully new one sorts that, i'll be removing the snap off part at same time as it makes the stalks to far away.

 I'd been looking at that one. Momo race, it's what I want in my bb4, but it was a bit pricey so I bought a tuner instead (or I've got them the wrong way round, but anyway... )
It came with a fighter fitted, which is the same as the race, but has wood top and bottom instead of the leather (still has leather left and right) . Again, it's a lovely wheel, but not right for the car.

Alot of smaller things been happening with the car so gave it a quick wash and took some up to date photos.

ES filled front mount, rear still to do. Front was torn to pieces so needed done

Plan is to get the oil cooler o ring done along with an oil change, replace the bad looking radiator for a new one I got of @vanzep along with a coolant change and fit the rear es mount.

After that I can concentrate on fitting the fujitsubo and the replacement exhaust taking from the breaker I had recently.

Love or hate them, more maintenance

Post by newkid » Mon Jul 27, 2015 6:04 pm

Well my steering wheel arrived Saturday so I decided to fit straight away, only managed to strip the threads putting the new wheel back on  so had to get another column, managed to pick one up yesterday from a local breaker, job i'm not looking forward to.

To make matters worse I went to pick my brother up from work this morning and the clutch pedal didnt feel right at all, the slave only decided to empty its guts over night. No signs of it going or anything even did 200 miles yesterday with the bodged on wheel. Thats already been replaced and clutch is as good as it ever was so just leaves the column to be changed now.

He's not on you side at the moment is he?

How did you manage to strip the column threads though? I assume not all of them? ;)

Swapping the column out isn't too bad a job really. The hardest part is reaching the knuckle above the rack.

Managed to strip them that bad bud that every time you try put a new nut on, even the correct one its stripping the nut  infact the middle of the threads is as good as gone, i'll get a pic up once I swap it over.
