Yea, but I technically have a Beetle that doesn't exist, and I have to remember what parts are what as one is a '71 and the other was a '79wurlycorner wrote:Yep, all well and good - yours is still a beetle. I was saying this is still an escort, but no longer an rs1600i...
Btw, there haven't been any updates on your fleet in ages... What's been happening?

Not much as of late. The engine is out the bug at the moment due to it leaking oil from the oil cooler mounting. Not sure if it's over pressurising causing the blow by, or if it's another issue. Going to do an alternator upgrade on it too whilst it's all apart. Replaced the box on the back of the big trike too, and it is massive!!! Still work in progress on that one though as I still have to fabricate some arches for it.
The old way of working out if a vehicle was the same vehicle was by percentage. If more than 80% of the original vehicle was used, then it kept that identity. It now comes down to points, but the chassis has to remain unmolested. This is a common one in the trike scene. My trikes kept their motorbike identities as I haven't modified the original frame. If I'd modified the original frame, I'd have to go through an MSVA / SVA for them.
