Uprated Clutches - Thinking of downgrading

Post by RattyMcClelland » Tue Aug 25, 2015 9:29 pm

I currently run a Competition Clutch Stage 4. Its an excellent clutch and grips very well. Never slipped when supercharged.
However the peddle is a little on the heavy side. Annoying when driving normally around town.
You can also feel the pressure plate overgrip too which can bounce the car sometimes when daily driving and downshifting.

Previously i ran the Accord Type R clutch on the supercharger and it did allow slip but nothing to be worried about and that felt great.

Can anyone recommend a clutch that feels OEM like the Acord Type R but can handle a bit more torque and be reliable.

Im thinking of downgrading to a Competition Clutch Stage 2 or 3.

Whats your thoughts hobos?

Depends on the stiffness in traffic and weather or not it will smell when I slip it on a hard start.

Speak to Competition clutches. They can pretty much customise with mix and matching.

Spoke to maz at Hond-r. He has a cc stage 2 in his cl1 Euro r and a cc stage 4 in his k20 5th gen.
He said there is little difference. Maybe a tad lighter and a more smooth engagement but I should stick with my stage 4.

Maybe I can learn to live with it. We will see.
