Which is left and which is right?

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Which is left and which is right?

Post by simonc » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:09 am

Hi all,
Can someone please clarify which is the left of the car and which is the right?
Are left and right defined if:
A: I'm in front of the car, looking at the bonnet
B: I'm behind the car, looking at the boot.

The reason I ask is that I want to know if my wheels are on correctly.

Thanks, Si.

Behind the car, looking at the boot, the left is to your left.

If looking at you drivers door the left side is the bootlid.

Are 4G wheels all the same design? As in 4 wheels with the spokes all going the same direction. If yes, then you can't put them on incorrectly.

No, sawblades all cut forwards. They're a properly designed and manufactured wheel, unlike so many aftermarket brands where they cut costs by making rotationally symmetrical wheels all the same direction. Annoys me that does.

Hi Donald, Nathan's spot-on as they're made asymmetrically so must be put on correctly. Each has an 'L' or 'R' to make sure they're on the correct side. It took me ages to figure out why my wheels didn't seem 'just so'.

Although, IIRC others discussing before on here... Even in Honda's own sales literature, they seemed unable to do that! (some pics had them facing one way, others another)

Well how else would they make them rotationally symmetrical? :P

Is it the 5G ones then that are like that? I can't remember now. I've seen so many Preludes with wheels going the wrong direction I can't remember anything  I'd much prefer the 4G wheels if they cut the other way but I guess they wouldn't be sawblades then.

I knew no matter how I worded that, that you'd find some way of picking fault with it lol.

But 5th gens are the same, one side mirrors the other. I always remember one guy on here was selling a set of 4 5th gen sawblades, only trouble was, 3 were one way and only 1 was the other
