Why do you think I went for the Elgrand, I wasn't going to get something boring Its the VQ35DE engine that is in (among others) the 350Z and G35 Coupe. It's set up for RWD and 4WD applications.wurlycorner wrote: I am genuinely surprised how quick that thing is!
I'm also surprised that it was built as rwd?
EDIT: Now read very first post and it is selectable 4WD, which makes more sense...
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Yes it is but not as ridiculous as the mpg. Not the tank that I used driving to the strip and back, but the one before that gave me and average of 16 mpg I was enjoying the grunt that weekwurlycorner wrote:Thats ridiculous...
I am going to get myself a D1 Spec throttle controller to see if I can use a little less fuel.

Re: Merlin's Nissan Elgrand
The inevitable happened, a stone jumped up and cracked the parking camera housing on my passenger wing mirror. It was letting in water and fogging up my camera. I couldn't see anything from it. Vanzep gave me a hand to fix it but we had to bust the clear cover in order to get all the water out. A load of superglue and clear Gorilla tape and it was back together, water tight and working again.
I got the bus up on the ramp and everything looked good underneath (except for a leaky shock absorber), just needing some underseal since it is a fresh import.
I fitted my D1 SPEC throttle controller to try and increase MPG (which it has) in economy mode, but it also has performance mode so it feels more responsive than it did before It took 20 mis to fit.
Plus new discs and pads all round and it is going like a charm. Every weekend since I have bout it I have used it to its max potential (interior space wise) either lugging stuff or people

So what you're saying is, the elegrand is very popular at your usual dogging spots...Merlin wrote:Every weekend since I have bout it I have used it to its max potential (interior space wise)
What does the mirror look like after? Abomination, or OK?

The mirror looks ok but I'm trying to get a new one or just the camera lense off a japanese auction site.
