'97 JDM SiR BB6 Auto (Selling )
Re: '98 JDM SiR BB6 Auto (Update, Donor Car is here)
Still not sure what to do about the ECU...i.e Type S one for the extra 20bhp or leave it as it is?
Is the Type S map similar to the ATR with the more aggressive VTEC and all the extra power over 6k?

Anybody correct me if I am wrong but I believe the typeS ECU is mapped to run the car on 98fuel and that extra 20hp also comes from typeS camshafts, typeS intake and slightly larger diameter exhaust.
EDIT: The H22A8 comes with the intake and the exhaust.

The donor car is all ready for the track day next weekend (Just gotta put the ATR Recaro's in and fuel it up)
Much much nicer driving a manual
Those Auto's suck the power right out!
What are them holes I are you ask????
lol...I removed the resonator and decided to put some holes in around it to make the air circulate a bit better. Gotta be worth at least 20bhp! If you're a member of the FB Prelude page have look at the stick I got of our American friends

I've not had mine that long, so you wouldn't have seen it.
I was a massive VAG fan boy for a long time, so wouldn't of noticed a sh!t Honda

Recaro's finally fitted. Modded Lude rails to get them low enough...1st one took 2hrs....2nd one 30mins

Re: '98 JDM SiR BB6 Auto (Donor car track ready...ATR Recaro
Quick update....
So I put it up for sale (various reasons), and although I had a few people interested, I wasn't happy to let it go for the price they wanted to pay. So I've kept it, and we are back on track for the engine/manual box change over the winter.
A job I've been meaning to do for sometime was to change the exhaust, it's far to loud (has a universal twin tail pipe/cherry bomb thing on it) and the rear joint was rotten and only held on by 1 nut and some exhaust paste lol. I took the standard one off the Vti, I was aware of the differences....so just replaced mine from the manifold back with a standard Honda H22a8 one....bolted straight up ok.
Second quick job was to replace the standard inlet pipe with the Type S/Vti one. I thought I may as well swap it over for a few months, probably make no difference, but it looks better

So it's now a little more enjoyable to drive, without the constant drone from the exhaust. Which is far worse on a Auto!
