It would, but wouldn't be the intake pipe as that's up stream of the throttle body. Any vac lines maybe.

I'll check vac lines one by one. Guts telling me it's the plate that's left from that silly thing that was wired in. O well means a thermal gasket fitted quicker.

I think I'm having similar problem on my 3rd gen and I've replaced most of the vac lines (run out of hose, need to buy more, want silicone red stuffs 8-) )

Just wondering, does idle bounce all the time for you? or is it just when engine isn't up to temp? And when the idle is bouncing can you settle it down by putting car in gear and lifting clutch with handbrake on (putting load on the engine)?

Mine idles fine while cold, and fine while hot, but in between peak temp and cold I get bouncing idle that only stops if I put load on the engine. If i instead give it a little rev to about 3k it will settle down and hold at about 1500/2000rpm (no bouncing) for a second before dropping to normal and bouncing again. But once I settle it with load on the engine it will hold normal idle until I remove the load and press the throttle.

Really weird, isn't it?

Is yours fuel injection? Could be the FITV (Fast Idle Thermal Valve).

Yea it's fuel injection, wouldn't FITV cause engine management light to come on though? Suppose it's worth a look :)

Thanks bud.

I can’t say what mine is. Didn’t get gasket changed today as planned as studs are swapped for extended ones and had no standard ones. Cars going back once there ordered.

Mine turned out to definitely be FITV going to try to clean it up and fix it this weekend. Best of luck with yours mate hope you manage to get it fixed.

Turned out it was that daft fuel saving coil thing, whoever fitted it needs shot tho! Tigerseal used as well as a paper gasket, was a nightmare to get off and then clean the head. No idle issue now, only downside is in getting it off the knock sensor was broken, ordered a cheap ebay one as not paying what honda want for one.

Find out once it arrives. Not exactly a complicated part tho so should be fine.
