I picked up a full set of OEM shocks, complete with top mounts from Ste the other day (Thanks again bud

)
They were in pretty good condition considering their age, with reasonably little rust on them... The springs especially!...
But they still needed a bit of a tart up

So...
I had given them a damn good scrubbing to remove any loose rust and then given them a good clean...
And then used Hammerite's straight to rust satin black paint to give them a new revitalised look. After the first few coats with the first setup it became evident the next day once the paint had dried that I'd missed a few areas. Sadly that day it was also raining pretty bad, and being I wanted them ready for the weekend to fit I had to improvise, so... I setup in my downstairs toilet

...
Don't worry, come my planning acceptance that room will be going
So anyway, much better

...
And with a set of these...
(Pi 40mm Lowering Springs), makes this lot...
Which then makes these...
Which then attach like this...
And this!...
So firstly, a really bad before pic...
Followed by an even worse after pic

...
Doesn't look like much difference at all in the pics, but there's definitely an improvement and that picture was taken straight after I'd finished fitting them on Friday evening after work and I've still not driven her yet, so I'm hoping they should settle a bit more as well.
But more importantly I'm actually going to make sure I wash her tomorrow as I don't know whether you noticed, but I've not had chance to wash her since I removed the rear spats!

Then I'll take her for a spin and take some better pics if I've got time
I'm also hoping to receive a dremel with all the paraphernalia sometime soon (Thanks to JohnnyB), so I'll finally be able to tackle the small areas of rust that have developed
